The Sky Is for Everyone
Polaroid photographs (2008 – present)

The Sky is for Everyone is a series of Polaroid photographs that are neither dated nor numbered.
The gesture of looking up towards the sky functions as an opening. Therefore the work resists the ‘here and now’ of the photographic.  The Sky Is for Everyone speaks about the impossibility of the work being framed within a specific place or time.
Here, as in previous work, I seek difference via repetition. I enjoy exploring the interplay between making and not-making, and between chance and intentionality. This is particularly true of my experimental approach to printmaking via monotypes and monoprints, where I can make something tangible in a few seconds. The Polaroid offers me a similar experience.
